All three of us have wanted to have a conversation about “misogyny.” Here it is. By the end of this episode, it was apparent there was more to talk about - in upcoming episodes.
What Is Misogyny?
Misogyny: hatred of women - ref. Random House Unabridged Edition of the entire English language (print).
Misogyny: Dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women. ‘she felt she was struggling against thinly disguised misogyny’ - ref. The Oxford Dictionary (online).
Misogyny manifests in numerous ways, including social exclusion, sex discrimination, hostility, androcentrism, patriarchy, male privilege, belittling of women, disenfranchisement of women, violence against women, and sexual objectification - ref. Wikipedia
I produced a podcast episode in 2007 with Stephanie interviewing Craig S. Barnes, the author of "In Search of the Lost Feminine.” That interview is included at the end of this episode.
